I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE

Earlier this week, I was finally able to have a conversation with somebody very important to me. Someone I hadn’t seen in over a year. Someone I had been holding dozens and dozens of imaginary conversations with, over the course of that year.
You know when you have so much to say to someone, but no opportunity to say it? You just keep turning random dialogue over and over in your head until you feel like you’re going insane. Well, that was me, for well over a year.
So after all those crazy, imagined conversations, I finally had the chance to talk.
And I’m temped to tell you that I blew it.
I looked at the floor pretty much the whole time I was talking. I teared up a few times. I rambled. And I probably seemed more than a little weak.
And yet… I know I said what I felt. I know I meant what I said. And I’m prepared to live with what I said, if I never get a chance to add to or revise it.
That has to be enough, for now. ❤️🔥—Y.B.D.
