THE MARKET HAS SPOKEN!

The wind blew things around a bit, yes. But all in all, it was a lovely day at the Mishawaka Market earlier today.

For those of you who haven’t been, the Market hosts our little Your Burning Desire pop-up shop every week, June through September. (FYI: there are only two Sunday Markets left as I write this. They’ll take place on 9/20 and 9/27 from 10am-2pm, and then two evening markets on 10/3 and 10/10, from 7-9pm, all at Ironworks Plaza in downtown Mishawaka, right next to the river.)

This is YBD’s first year selling anything, but three out of the four months of Market season have already gone by, and it feels like I’ve been doing this forever. (In a good way.)

So this week I did a little something different in the pop-up shop… I encouraged YBD customers to do their civic duty and VOTE!

I even bribed them into doing it, by offering a free pocket card with a new YBD design on it.

I am happy to report that the bribe worked, and I got a ton of votes from some very patient people who gamely looked through about twenty of my latest designs until they finally found their favorites.

The winners are in the gallery above, in no particular order… in fact, I think WHAT BELONGS TO YOU COMES TO YOU got the most votes of all. Including, from some very young YBD customers who looked like they were barely out of middle school.

And if you ask me, I love what this says about YBD customers. Maybe they’re more romantically-leaning, and cosmically-minded, than I gave them credit for.

I guess it just goes to show… people can be full of pleasant surprises. ❤️‍🔥—Y.B.D.
