I don’t care how long I’ve been single (nine and a half years, in case you’re interested). I still believe in True Love! And I’m not even talking about the grand, metaphysical omnipotence of True Love, like I usually am in these postcard stories. Right now I’m talking about the True Love that binds two people together in peace, in trust, in total acceptance, and in physical and emotional togetherness. I can tell you right now, without blinking an eye, that True Love saved my life. Without True Love to believe in and hitch my star to, I’d be drowning in chaos, nothingness, and meaninglessness (and I may very well have given up on this life completely). But that’s not to say I have True Love all figured out at this point, not by a long shot! See, just because I have a steady stream of True Love flowing through my little postcard business, and as the foundation for my relationship with my kids and my family, doesn’t mean I’ve quite been able to to align myself with True Love on the most personal of levels — a love relationship with another person. And it’s not that I haven’t tried, either. Actually, it’s safe to say that I’ve tried too hard! I’ve tried to bend and twist and make myself smaller, in an attempt to sustain good-looking relationships that didn’t fit me. I’ve tried to search for True Love, too. But unfortunately, my searches tend to be motivated more by anxiety and desperation, rather than by authentic trust, joy, and a simple desire to share the love I have with somebody else. And if there’s anything that repels True Love, it’s fear! So these days, I don’t do anything to “find” True Love at all. I just try to live with as much peace, and joy, and acceptance for myself, and harmony with my little corner of the Universe, as I can. From there, I hope like crazy that True Love will find me. ❤️🔥—Y.B.D.
