I want you to try a little experiment. Try saying these words out loud, to yourself: I have a brand new life now. If you feel yourself becoming misty-eyed and emotional upon hearing yourself say them, then I think this is a pretty good indication that either a) you really are in need of a brand new life on some level; or b) you are already well on your way to creating that brand new life for yourself, whether that’s been happening consciously or unconsciously. I would even venture to guess that those of you who found yourselves giggling, or outright scoffing, at the phrase I have a brand new life now might be sorely in need of a brand new life, too. Please allow me to clarify, though, that “a brand new life” could take many different forms, on many different levels. Take me, for example. A few months back, I realized I was sick and tired of being in love with the same old ghost of a person who didn’t love me back. Sick and tired of being financially unstable. Sick and tired of smoking weed all the damned time, and feeling ashamed and secretive about it. And sick and tired of suffering through relationships where I had to be fake and phony all the time, or to numb myself just to be able to get through them. For all those reasons and more, I realized I owed it to myself, and to those I loved and cared about, to create a brand new life. One in which I could feel successful and rewarded at work. Where I didn’t need weed to feel okay anymore. And one in which my relationships were honest and loving ones, especially. It’s not as difficult as you might think, to create a brand new life for yourself. But the very first step has to be a deep and true awareness that you actually want one. ❤️🔥—Y.B.D.
