Self-doubt isn’t “reality.” Self-doubt is the equivalent of denying myself something good, because I’ve convinced myself that deep down, I don’t really deserve it. Self-doubt is shooting down my chances before I’ve even had a chance to get out of the gate. So you know what? Fuck it. I’m going to do the opposite of doubting and denying myself, which is to express radical faith in what I want. Like, for instance, I have a very clear picture in my head of the love I want with another person. So I’m going to believe in that vision like crazy, and allow it to manifest in my life by allowing myself to feel it and enjoy it before it’s even happened. I’ve listened to a hundred pieces of advice that would tell me I’m crazy to want what I want, and to believe so fervently in a love that’s crashed and burned several times over, in the past. But again — fuck it. I’m going to embrace this love like it’s already warm and beating in my arms, and I’m not going to doubt the strength or the certainty of this love for a second. Because the greatest benefit of having no doubts, you see, is that without doubt weighing me down and clouding my light, I can have perfect trust in the most powerful force for good in the Universe: love. Actually, it’s what I call True Love (although that’s a bit redundant). Trust is what builds and grows and takes a relationship to a place more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed up, myself. ❤️🔥—Y.B.D.
